April 2017

Sunday 30 April  |  Quakers and a New Economy: Reading and Discussion Group

After Meeting for Worship at Friends House, starting at 12.30pm. This group will explore how a Quakerly economic system could work in practice focussing on the series of seven booklets published by the new economy project at Quaker Peace and Social Witness. In April, the group will be looking at ‘Energy in the new economy’. An online version (PDF) is available here.

Quakers call for an economic system that has equality, justice and environmental sustainability at its heart. We work on welfare and inequality, corporate accountability and ethical finance, while exploring principles and practical steps towards a ‘new economy’. Eva at our Local Meeting is leading our reading and discussion group. Let her know at Meeting if you want to join in at any of the sessions or join the online group.
